A Look Back at 2025 and Ahead to 2026

Reflecting on the work, the relationships, and the ideas shaping what comes next.As we wrap up 2025, we’ve been doing what we encourage our clients to do: pause, take stock, and look ahead with intention. This past year marked a meaningful milestone for Ebbrell Architecture + Design – 10 years in business. Along the way, we celebrated projects that reflect what we care most about: smart planning, thoughtful interiors, and spaces that work hard for the people who use them.We had the opportunity to demonstrate the breadth of our capabilities from a “forever home” office to research-driven environments, patient-centered healthcare design, and experience-forward community spaces. Together, these projects reflect the range of sectors we serve and the consistent, thoughtful approach we bring to each. In the end, 2025 reinforced a simple truth: good design is as much about listening to our clients as it is about aesthetics. What’s coming in 2026?The commercial real estate market continues to recalibrate, and with that comes opportunity. Office, life sciences, healthcare, and community spaces are all evolving and design is playing a central role in helping organizations adapt.Looking ahead, we’re seeing a few themes that will shape architecture and interior design in 2026:

  • Flexible, future-ready spaces
Clients want spaces that support hybrid work, changing teams, multiple uses and offer opportunities for future adaptation without feeling generic.
  • Warmth, character, and personality
Interiors are moving away from stark minimalism toward richer materials, layered textures, and spaces that feel human and expressive.
  • Wellness and sustainability as the baseline
Healthy materials, daylight, biophilic elements, and sustainable strategies are no longer “nice to have.” They’re expected and thoughtfully integrated.
  • Experience matters more than ever
Whether it’s an office, lab, or community space, people want places that feel welcoming and connected to brand and culture.

As we head into 2026, we’re energized by the conversations we’re having with our clients – about right-sizing space, rethinking how people gather, and designing environments that support both productivity and well-being.Thank you for being part of our growing 10-year practice. We’re excited about what’s next and ready to design for it.
