Building repositioning

A brighter, more inviting lobby and amenity spaces attract more tenants, and the revitalization adds value to a downtown office building.

When the owner of a newly acquired downtown office building approached Ebbrell Architecture + Design to breathe new life into a dated structure, the transformation was remarkable. And the desired result – to attract and retain tenants – was accomplished through a targeted design that maximized lobby areas, repurposed previous storage zones, and re-energized the building’s street presence.

  • Renovated below-grade underused storage areas into bright, inviting break areas, fitness spaces, a conference room, and commuter bicycle storage.
  • Designed a new building reception to attract tenants and visitors into the building, and to provide better visual coverage for security personnel.
  • Defined transition areas for phone calls and casual conversation using soft materials and lighting strategies.
  • Rebranded the building’s street presence in an economical way by specifying and detailing contemporary signage, updated exterior lighting and door hardware, and a brighter paint color palette.
